Equipment Every Commercial Kitchen Needs

Whether you run a restaurant or a barbecue joint, you need to have commercial kitchen equipment you can rely on. It has to be easy to use, easy to clean, easy to understand.

The things that we all hope for, will be that our kitchen equipment is made from high-quality materials and that the design will be for quality and longevity. We think that out of all the equipment that one can purchase, there are three, in particular, that stand out above the rest.

Charbroiler

A commercial charbroiler is one of the most versatile kitchen equipment options you have. You can cook vegetables, steak, sausages, chicken and pork loin to an absolutely crisp perfection.

With thick iron grates, it won’t bend and distort as you turn up the heat. They can be removed quickly so cleaning is easy. Because they are made out of stainless steel, they are also less likely to be damaged. So if something heavy like a pot drops on them, you won’t have to worry about replacing them.

A charbroiler keeps the meat tender, juicy and with a little bit of a crunch; perfect for recipes that require a little flame. The entire body is made out of stainless steel, so it’s rugged and sturdy. This is a type of grill you would want in a restaurant that does grilled chicken and or charred vegetable dishes.

Freezer

To keep everything fresh and ready for future use, you need a commercial kitchen freezer. Freezers are able to keep your food well under freezing, despite a high ambient temperature. This is crucial for restaurants as the heat in the kitchen can build and build, so you don’t want your produce to thaw under such conditions which will be normal.

Freezers are also to have shelves at different temperatures. So if you want something that is slightly frozen at the top, such as a sauce for tomorrow night, then this can be done, while the bottom shelves are for frozen vegetables or meats.

A commercial freezer also has a plastic interior so food will not stick to the sides. With fan-assisted cooling, even with the doors open the food can stay cool for some time. It also vents air outward so the working parts stay cool.

Kitchen Cabinets

Commercial kitchen cabinets are pretty much as you would expect, but they have some key features that might slip the eye. Made entirely out of stainless steel, these cabinets can store almost anything. Large saucepans, pots, plates, cutlery and trays to name a few.

However, most have a double slide door which makes for easy access on both sides. They usually feature a single shelf, which is removable. The cabinet also has wheels, so they can be moved around quite easily. With a thick surface, they can be used for food prep as well.
