When you see a project you like the first step is to register

You can become a backer by contributing as little as $10 to a project. For this you get full access to the 'making-of zone' where photojournalists communicate with their backers.
Photojournalists will keep backers informed about their progress with regular updates in the form of posts, video and of course pictures. They may also offer extra rewards for bigger contributions, such as exclusive prints, invites to screenings or exhibitions or signed copies of their photo books.

On the project page, simply pick the amount you would like to contribute and you will be taken to our payment system Emphas.is uses PayPal, one of the most trusted and secure companies for online payments. If you don't have a PayPal account already you can create one by following this link.

Money will only be transferred to the photographer if 100% of the funding goal is reached. If a project does not reach 100% all contributions are returned to the backer's account.

Once a photographer begins a project the backers will have exclusive access to the making of zone.
