Aaron Huey has been working on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for 6 years and has developed contacts with many Native Rights organizations in that time. His work has won numerous awards. Huey is a Contributing Editor/photographer for Harper's magazine.

Aaron Huey is a Contributing Editor/photographer for Harper's magazine. Huey's Pine Ridge work recently rose to prominence after he was invited to give a lecture on the subject at a TED conference. The video of the TED talk went viral and became an overnight success on the internet. His work has won numerous awards including Best of Photojournalism, Pictures of the Year International, Center 's Choice Awards, PDN, as well as a National Geographic Expedition Council Grant, and an Annenberg Foundation grant.He also freelances regularly for The National Geographic magazines, The New Yorker, the Smithsonian, the New York Times, the GEOs and dozens of others. Huey is widely known for his 3,349 mile, solo walk across America (with his dog Cosmo). The 2002 journey lasted 154 days. There was no media coverage. They walked every step. Aaron now uses Seattle, WA, where he sits on the board of directors for the photographic non-profit Blue Earth Alliance, as a home base in between assignments.
